These actors started their career as child actors and today they are all successful in their chosen career. The Nollywood film industry has produced a lot of famous celebrities that grace our screens today, it is also amazing to know that some of these celebrities started out as child actors.

The Nigerian movie industry also known as Nollywood have really built a career for many talents and these ten young and vibrant actors are not exceptional. 1. Somadina Adinma

Somadina Adinma is a Nollywood actor, television presenter, model and a television personality. He is very handsome and talented. He was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria. Somadina Adinma is originally from Neni, a small town in Nnewi Local Government Area of Anambra State. After completing his primary and secondary school education in Lagos, Somadina Adinma proceeded to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka in Anambra State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. He joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 2006 and started acting as a child actor. Aside from acting, Somadina Adinma is also a model and a television presenter. He has worked with Enugu State Broadcasting Services and Igbo TV as a radio and television presenter.

2. Regina Daniels

Regina Daniels is a Nollywood actress, model, producer, television personality and a philanthropist. She was born on 13th May 2000 in Asaba, Delta State in the south southern part of Nigeria. She is currently 22 years old. She joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 2007 at the age of 7 years old. In 2010, she rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Miracle Child” a tragic movie which she acted alongside with Chinwe Owoh. She attended Hollywood International School in Asaba, Delta State and Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State with a degree in Theatre Arts. She is currently married to Prince Ned Nwoko. Regina Daniels top the list of most beautiful and richest teen actress in Nigeria. She has been nominated for Best Actress of the Year at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Most Promising Actress in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

3. Chinenye Nnebe

Chinenye Nnebe is a Nollywood actress, model, and a television personality. She started her acting career as a Nollywood child actress. She is the daughter to Nollywood costumier and movie producer Uche Nancy. She was born on 5th April 1997 in Asaba, Delta State. She is currently 25 years old. She is the last child in the family. She grew up in Asaba, Delta State. Information about her father is unknown, she alongside with her sisters were single handedly raised by their mother Uche Nancy. In 2000, Chinenye Nnebe was introduced into the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) by her mother Uche Nancy as a child actress. She has featured in over 70 Nollywood movies. She is always known for playing the role of a child, house help, maid, royal princess, girlfriend, wife and daughter in-law in several Nollywood movies.

4. Williams Uchemba

Williams Uchemba is a Nollywood actor, movie producer, model, comedian, philanthropist, entrepreneur and a television personality. He is currently the United Nation Ambassador and African Youth Representative to the United Nation. He was born and bred in Abia State. Williams Uchemba attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relation. He joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 2000 as a child actor and rose to fame in 2001 after featuring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “The Journey of the Dead” a movie he acted alongside with Pete Edochie, Olu Jacobs and Ramsey Noah. The movie “The Journey of the Dead” brought him to limelight and made him a public figure.

5. Destiny Etiko

Destiny Etiko is a Nollywood actress, scriptwriter, television personality and a model. She has been regarded as one of the best performing actress in Nigeria and also one of the most beautiful actress in Nigeria known for her romantic, action and tragic roles in movies. She started her career as a Nollywood child actress. She hails from Udi in Enugu State. She is a graduate of Theatre Arts from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State. In 2014, Destiny Etiko was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the City People Entertainment Awards. In 2015, she was also nominated for Best Actress in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Idemili” an epic horror movie.

6. Chukwudi Okoro

Chukwudi Okoro popularly known as Ikenta started his career as a Nollywood child actor, but today he has grown into a handsome young man. He is currently an actor, a movie producer and a television personality. Chukwudi Okoro is popularly known for playing the role of a spoilt brat who is fond of intimidating people. He is known for playing the role of a troublemaker in several Nollywood movies. He always features in epic, comedy and tragic movies. He joined the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood in 1999 as a child actor. Some of the movies he has acted include Onye Eze, Aguba, Hi Goat, Ikenta Onye Ojuo, and many more. He is a graduate of Political Science from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology. He is very talented and gifted in acting and interpretation of movie roles.

7. Sharon Ezeamaka

Sharon Ezeamaka is a Nollywood actress, producer, model and a television personality. She started acting at the age of 5 years old as a child actress. She was born on 24th October 1992 in Lagos State, Nigeria. She is currently 31 years old. She is very beautiful and talented. She is originally from Enugu State, but was born and raised in Lagos State. In 1997, Sharon Ezeamaka joined Nollywood at the age of 5 years old and acted in her first movie “Narrow Escape” as a child actress alongside with Pete Edochie. In 2000, Sharon Ezeamaka rose to fame after acting in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Dear Mother” a tragic movie she acted as a child actress alongside with Hilda Dokubo. The movie “Dear Mother” later won her the award for Best Child Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

8. Promise Odika

Promise Odika is a Nollywood actor, producer, model and a television personality. He started his career as a Nollywood child actor, but today he has grown into a handsome young man. Promise Odika is popularly known for playing the role of an orphan who is been maltreated by his step mother. He always features in tragic and sorrowful movies. He joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 1998 as a child actor. Promise Odika was born and raised in Aba, Abia State. He started acting at a very tender age. In 2001, he rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Onye-Eze” where he played the role of a child who lost his mother and is been maltreated by his step mother.

9. Sandra Uchemba

Sandra Uchemba is the younger sister to Williams Uchemba. She started her career as a Nollywood child actress. She attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State and holds a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Sandra Uchemba joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 2000 alongside with his brother as child actors and rose to fame in 2001 after featuring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “The Journey of the Dead” a movie she acted alongside with her brother Williams Uchemba, Hilda Dokubo, Pete Edochie, Olu Jacobs and Ramsey Noah. Most Nollywood lovers know more about the brother than the sister because she stopped acting in Nollywood years ago and is now an Agricultural based Entrepreneur and currently lives in Dublin, Ireland.

10. Samuel Ajibola

Samuel Ajibola is a Nollywood actor, model, events planner, comedian, entrepreneur and a television personality. He is popularly known as ‘Spiff’ because of his amusing portrayal in the Nigerian television drama ‘The Johnsons.’ Samuel Ajibola started his career as a Nollywood child actor. He is best known for his role as a child-actor in the Opa Williams directed movie Tears for Love. Samuel Ajibola is also famous for being the first Nigerian child actor to win the award for Best Child Actor for three years in a row. On 4th March, 2017 he won the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award for Best Actor in an M-net comedy series ‘The Johnsons’. He was born in Mazamaza, Lagos.  He is the first child in a family of four children. He hails from Ekiti State. Samuel Ajibola began his acting career in 1995 at the age of 6 years old in the Opa Williams directed movie, Tears for Love.
