Erik ten Hag has been dismissed as manager of Manchester United and club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy named as interim replacement.
The fallen Premier League giants announced this in a statement issued on Monday, October 28, 2204.
The decision came in the wake of a 1-0 Premier League defeat to West Ham United, which marked the end of the Dutchman’s two-and-a-half-year tenure at Old Trafford.

“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” the statement read. The Dutchman, 54, has had string of difficulties during his time in charge of the English club.
Ten Hag survived a summer review by the club’s hierarchy after an FA Cup final victory over rivals Manchester City in May.
It came despite United ending last season in eighth place – their lowest-ever Premier League finish – and crashing out of the Champions League before Christmas.
United is currently sitting in 14th place after nine matches.

Ten Hag joins David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick as managers who have failed to restore Manchester United to their trophy-laden years under Sir Alex Ferguson.
He leaves behind him a host of new signings, with United recruiting Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte over the summer window.
