A 19-year-old Nigerian lady, identified as Sarah Seun Solarin, has captured the hearts and admiration of many after earning a first-class degree in Computer Science from the prestigious leading private institution Babcock University.
The lady shared on her social media page that she excelled in all her academic endeavors, graduating with a perfect 5.0 CGPA at such a young age.
Via her LinkedIn page, Sarah, who rocked her graduation gown, announced that she was recognized as the overall best graduating student from the School of Computer and Engineering Sciences and also held the highest CGPA in the Department of Computer Science.
She highlighted her exceptional performance in her final year, achieving a perfect 5.0 GPA and successfully defending her project titled ‘Brain Tumor Identification and Classification Using YOLOv5 in Magnetic Resonance Imaging,’ earning a top grade of 90.
With her High grades in university, she was recognized with many prestigious awards like Google Generation Scholarship for academic excellence, Dean’s Prize for the highest CGPA in the School of Computing, Engineer (Dr.) Akin Alade Family Award for Best Graduating Student, Folajimi Daodu Award for Best Graduating Student, Labulo Prize, donated by Prof. Biodun and Prof. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Disu, Academic Excellence Award from the Michael Adetutu Foundation, which included cash prizes, career coaching, and assistance with scholarship applications, New Horizons IT/E-Biz Certification Excellence Prize, Dean’s mention for a paid 3-month internship with the Kibo School Programme in the U.S.
Sarah revealed that her awards will earn her higher places in her computer science field in the nearest future, inspiring many online.
In her post, she expressed gratitude to God, her family, friends, mentors, and academic supervisors, acknowledging their roles in her success.

She wrote, “On the 28th of July this year, I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science at 19. I was also awarded as the student with the Highest CGPA in the Department of Computer Science, as well as being on the Dean’s List as the Overall Best Graduating student from the School of Computing and Engineering Sciences (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Technology, Software Engineering and Information Technology), Babcock University.”
“I am even happier to announce that I not only wrapped up my Bachelor’s Degree with a 5.0 GPA in my final semester, but also successfully defended and published my final year project on “Brain Tumor Identification and Classification Using YOLOv5 in Radiomics Analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scans” with an A grade of 90.”
